University Students from Boston Meet with Other Voice Members

On the 25th of May, 2013, a group of 30 students and professors of theology from the Boston area visited Kibbutz Urim. The group, which is visiting Israel-Palestine under the auspices of MEJDI – a joint Arab-Jewish peace venture – has brought thousands of people to the region for study tours. The tours expose the participants to the complexities of the conflict and encourage the participants to engage in peace activities.

Julia Chaitin from Other Voice told the visitors about the kibbutz, and its history, and the region, which borders the Gaza strip. She then talked about the many peace initiatives and activities of Other Voice. After the visit to Urim, the group went on to Moshav Nativ Ha’asara – in order to meet Tzameret Zamir – the artist and creator – of the Path to Peace – a wall on the border with Gaza that is a sign for peace. The giant ceramic peace path is the joint effort of thousands of people who come to this point along the border to create a message of peace.
